Harris Announces $2 Million Grant for Expansion of Juniata County Industrial Park
HARRISBURG – To attract both businesses and boost the local economy, Rep. Adam Harris (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) secured a $2 million grant through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) to offset the costs of a project to expand Juniata County Industrial Park.

“As the Juniata County Industrial Park is nearly filled to capacity with only four small lots available, this grant will help to provide space for businesses to grow. The new businesses will provide jobs and help to stimulate our local economy,” Harris said. “I look forward to seeing the many benefits this money will bring to our area.”

Funding will be used for the acquisition of approximately 59 acres of land adjacent to the current industrial park for the Juniata Business and Industry (JBI) Industrial Park Expansion project. The project will also fund the development and expansion of the necessary infrastructure including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, access road and potable water to serve the first phase of the project which will serve 35 acres and 12 lots less than 3 acres in size.

The project will be funded by a RACP grant. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs. RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
